Cayman Parrot Sanctuary

Cayman Parrot

The Cayman Parrot Sanctuary offers a friendly interactive and educational experience for the whole family. Enjoy meeting face-to-face Cayman’s native animals as well as plants and unspoiled natural landscapes.

The Cayman Parrot is the common name for 2 parrot subspecies that are found only on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. Originally listed as a game bird, the Cayman Parrot was given full protection under the Animals (Protection) Regulations in 1989.

In addition to Cayman parrots, the sanctuary is also home to local agoutis, hermit crabs, guinea pigs, snakes, many additional birds and others! Visit and you can see them all while touring the site.

A fantastic example of eco-tourism, the sanctuary serves to rehabilitate local animals while giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the animals and support conservation efforts.
